Saying goodbye to work for a year is supposed to be the best thing ever, right? Well it has its perks and I’m certainly not complaining, but I have found that, surprisingly, over the last six years I have moved from being thoroughly frustrated with my job (working as a speech therapist in school districts with too many kids on caseload and too few resources) to actually being able to say that I LOVE my job.
Well, I have many reasons to say so. For the last three years I worked at a great private practice in the city with some of the best families and the sweetest students (lots of little hugs and love when I left!) who taught me tons every day. I also had the best bosses (WHO says that??) and the most caring group of girls as coworkers. Case in point, here are some pictures from the going away party they threw me. They handmade flags from all 15 countries we will be going to and made food from a number of them (so totally pintrest inspired, they know me too well) All the little details they put in were just too cute not to share! Not pictured: they even made a travel journal with sweet messages and some of our students’ handprints in it!
